Amazon Prime in 2018 followed its streaming-video rivals into advertising original programming during the Super Bowl. The competition used the same game to back "The Cloverfield Paradox" on Netflix and "Castle Rock" on Hulu; for Amazon Prime, in its first Super Bowl appearance, the beneficiary was "Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan."
