Fueled by the 1998 settlement between the states and the tobacco industry, American Legacy Foundation came to play hard in the 2001 Super Bowl. In this spot, one of two by Arnold Worldwide in Super Bowl XXXV, viewers learn about the Master Settlement ... and get punched in the gut when the voiceover gets video to match.
American Legacy would return to the Super Bowl in 2002 with a pair of ads again by Arnold, this time under the banner of the Truth campaign ("Ratman," "Squadron").
