Sean Hayes, who later in 1998 would begin a breakout role on NBC’s “Will & Grace” to last through 2006, stars here in Bud Light and DDB Chicago’s Super Bowl XXXII ad “Shopping,” one of a few ads of the era to turn not just on gender role jokes but the shopping experience in particular. Hayes has another spot in the same Super Bowl, helping Doritos market its 3D line extension with a minute-long laundromat scenario ("Laundromat").
Omnicom Group's DDB, the agency that introduced Bud Light in 1981, would continue on the account all the way through 2011.
