Anheuser-Busch again produced a popular favorite with this spot featuring a slapstick gag from DDB Chicago for Bud Light.
Directed by Harvest's Michael Downing, the spot shows a skydiving coach coaxing a reluctant student to jump with a six-pack of Bud. The student doesn't go for it, but the pilot does, leading to a comic mid-air crisis. The ad won the top score of any ad in that year’s USA Today Ad Meter, which charts the second-by-second reactions of a group of volunteers. (Anheuser-Busch also secured three of the Ad Meter’s top seven slots for Super Bowl XXXIX and five of the top 12.)
