Production house RadicalMedia in 2003 developed four Bud Light Super Bowl spots for DDB: “Parade,” “Mother” and a pair of animal-centric gags: "No Pets" and this one.
In “Sounds of the Sea,” a Jason Biggs doppelganger watches a stock Malibu surfer dude pick up a pair of bikinied beachgoers, Fonzie style, by way of a prop conch shell and a goofy bit about channeling the voice of the sea. Not-Jason-Biggs tries the maneuver on for size and is ravaged by a crab for his troubles.
The spot landed 10th place on USA Today's annual Super Bowl Ad Meter. In fact, all of RadicalMedia's in-game Bud Light ads would be voted among the year’s 10 most popular. Along with an extensive client list (Apple, Coca-Cola, Porsche, etc.), the production company has also developed music videos for artists like Jay Z, Kanye West and the 2015 Super Bowl halftime act, Katy Perry.
