Bud Bowl owes its success to minor notes like that, giving what should be an aburd enterprise an unexpected resemblance to a real Super Bowl. Then again, the sudden drop in temperature as the game goes to halftime comes 24 years before the first NFL championship in a cold-weather outdoor stadium.
