This minute-long spot was one of the evening's few departures from the laughter-chasing ads that filled the rest of Super Bowl XLII. General Motors and Leo Burnett Los Angeles here promote the GMC Yukon Hybrid with a distinctively animated Sisphyus, drawn by Marcell Jankovics, a Hungarian who was nominated for an Academy Award for the short film "Sisphyus" in 1976.
GM originally planned to use its minute-long berth in the 2008 game to feature Chevrolet, but eventually decided to go with GMC, advertising Chevy in the pre-game show and Cadillac in the post-game.
