It's not often you see a cable network's promo during a Super Bowl broadcast, but History Channel was on a roll with the male demographic and wanted to get even more of those eyeballs for its Feb. 9 season premiere of reality show "Swamp People," which follows the lives of a few alligator hunters down in Louisiana.
TruTv, in one other exception to the rule, used Super Bowl XLIV in 2010 to pump up its then-new series “NFL Full Contact.” Oxygen Media turned up in the 2000 Super Bowl with an ad called “Babies,” but that was to introduce an entire cable network, not just one show.
