After a multidimensional, intergalactic space epic for the Optima in 2011 (“One Epic Ride”), Kia Motors and independent agency David & Goliath get back to slightly more relatable, charming content -- an “extreme dream sequence,” as Kia described it -- with a great soundtrack. And watch for an ending that’s a nice twist on your typical testosterone-laden football ad, bringing viewers from kick-ass to "Awwww, you guys!" in under 60 seconds.
Model Adriana Lima, seen here waving the checkered flag, starred in a separate Super Bowl ad in 2012 promoting Teleflora ("Valentine's Night").
Kia premiered the ad Feb. 2, three days before the game, on YouTube and in movie theaters using National CineMedia's FirstLook pre-movie program. Shorter teaser clips also appeared on TV and in movie theaters. “A Dream Car. For Real Life” was David & Goliath’s third consecutive Super Bowl appearance for Kia.
