Lipton Brisk - Puppet Revolt
February 03, 2002
After many years of J. Walter Thompson ads for Lipton Brisk starring claymation puppets of stars such as Bruce Willis and James Brown (see the 1998 Super Bowl "Babe Ruth"), Super Bowl XXXVI finds the product so improved that the puppets are put out of work. A minute-long rampage led by claymation Danny DeVito results, courtesy of BBDO New York, which also made ads for brand Pepsi in the same game (see the 90-second Britney Spears extravaganza "Now and Then" here).
Lipton Brisk and claymation celebrities would return to the Super Bowl, however, in 2011 ("Eminem").
