MasterCard and McCann-Erickson’s second commercial in Super Bowl XXXII presents a droll vignette about a bungled coffee-bar encounter, replete with a “Friends”-looking couple of protagonists (although the venue is more seductive than Central Perk). In targeting younger consumers, “Zipper” complements the first spot, “India,” and its older demographic nicely. MasterCard and McCann-Erickson would buy another ticket to the Super Bowl in 1999 (“Toons”).
