After sitting out of the Super Bowl since 2000 ("Turtle," "Snake"), Motorola used the big game of 2006 to introduce the marketing for its new mobile phone, Pebl. The campaign also marked one of the last efforts by Geoffrey Frost, Motorola’s chief marketing officer, who died in November 2005. Mr. Frost was responsible for helping to transform Motorola into a more fashionable brand.
The spot starts with an asteroid plunging toward earth, confronting rain and wind and snow, and landing into the sea before washing up onto a pebble beach in the form of the Pebl phone.
