Super Bowl commercials for consumer electronics such as TV systems are relatively rare, perhaps because the big-ticket holiday shopping season is always a few weeks past. Some people buy new TVs to better enjoy the Super Bowl itself, but by the second quarter, it's too late for marketers to cash in on that either.
