Eons before Anheuser-Busch would become the official beer sponsor of the big game, Joseph Schlitz Brewing Co. and Leo Burnett used NBC's coverage of the third Super Bowl to market Schlitz in this spot.

The plummy pitch concludes, "When you're out of Schlitz, you're out of beer," a tagline created by Leo Burnett in 1966.

Burnett handled the company's marketing from 1962 through 1978, advertising Schlitz and Old Milwaukee and introducing Schlitz Malt Liquor, Schlitz Lite and Erlanger along the way.
