How chilling is PepsiCo's Sierra Mist? To convey the cool, the brand and BBDO give Super Bowl XXXVIII viewers Patton Oswalt spraying liquid nitrogen onto his nether regions. Paired with the high-dive of "Fire Escape," Sierra Mist differentiates itself well from sibling Pepsi, which used its presence in the game to identify with youth ("Crossroads," "I Fought the Law") and mealtime ("Just Lunch" and "Mountain Men").
After 2004, Sierra Mist skipped a Super Bowl, then bought time in 2006 for "Wand," which pursued a new direction.
