A quick-moving, punchy spot for Sprint by Omnicom's Goodby, Silverstein & Partners promotes the telco's push-to-talk Nextel Direct Connect service, continuing an existing campaign in which roadies run the world.
What if roadies ran airlines? Well, lots of beeping, shorter airline-safety speeches and generally all kinds of efficiency.
It was Sprint's return after a year off, and a spot that ran unopposed by other cellphone companies in the game -- a rare oasis amid the category's rampant ad wars. In 2007, it put "Connectile Dysfunction" up against T-Mobile's "Icon." Sprint would next take advantage of Super Bowl airtime with its cheeky "Apology" spot in 2015, when faced off with two T-Mobile spots ("KimsDataStash," "One-Upped").
