Staples - It Was Easy
February 01, 2004
A pre-"Easy Button" Staples pursues its “That Was Easy” positioning into Super Bowl XXXVIII with this spot by Omnicom Group's Martin/Williams Advertising in Minneapolis.
That's tough-guy Joe Viterelli ("Analyze This") helping to convince a dictatorial office supply manager to stop taking bribes. (Viterelli died days before that year's Super Bowl.)
The next year the campaign would bring out the "Easy Button" at the Super Bowl, launching Staples into true pop-culture potency.
