Subway returns to the Super Bowl after a long absence to gather a host of the chain's endorsers -- including Los Angeles Clippers power forward Blake Griffin, Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III, boxer Laila Ali and speed skater Apolo Ohno -- to congratulate Jared Fogle for keeping off the weight he lost years earlier on his Subway diet.
Subway and MMB in Boston, the agency behind "15 Years in the Making," would be back in the Super Bowl for 2014 with "Crunch Time," again using celebrity athletes but going without Jared.
The following year Subway severed all ties with Fogle as he plead guilty to charges of possessing child pornography and traveling to engage in sexual conduct with a minor. In December 2015, it introduced a new campaign by BBDO telling the story the chain's beginnings and moving away from celebrity endorsers and pricing pitches like the "Five Dollar Footlong."
