Five months after scoring the Burger King business, OKRP has hired the creative team behind Wingstop’s Cannes Lions Grand Prix-winning “Thighstop” campaign to serve as group creative directors on the account.
Matt McNulty and Ben Pfutzenreuter last served as creative directors at Leo Burnett. There, they helped to create the “Thighstop” campaign, which found a fresh revenue stream for Wingstop when supply shortages of its main product threatened business. The effort won the Cannes Lions Grand Prix in the Creative Commerce category earlier this year.
“By our measure, advertising has never meant less to people and more to brands,” said Pfutzenreuter. The “Thighstop” campaign “validated our hunch that sincerity, transparency, and decisive action are winning tools in the marketplace. People respect brands that show them who they really are. Going forward, our ambition is to continue to do work like that—that truly leaves an impression, not just tallies one.”
