Publicis Groupe has named Amazon executive Amy Armstrong chief revenue officer, focusing on its connected media offering.
Armstrong was most recently director of global customer development at Amazon Ads, where she oversaw the e-commerce giant’s agency and account teams. Before that, she was global CEO of IPG Mediabrands’ Initiative, the first woman to hold that post. While Publicis has had other chief revenue officers, Armstrong will be the first to concentrate on connected media, according to a Publicis spokesperson.
Effective March 1, Armstrong will be responsible for “connecting the sales organizations,” within Publicis’ connected media unit, the holding company said in a statement. The unit, which aims to integrate Publicis’ capabilities across paid, earned, shared and owned media with data company Epsilon, includes Publicis Media and investment arm PMX, as well as commerce and digital experience agencies such as Mars United Commerce, Digitas, Razorfish and Influential.
