In a past life, Regi Cash worked in finance as the head of investor relations for the Americas at both UBS and Deutsche Bank. “But there was something unfulfilled about the job,” says Cash, 39. “It wasn’t connected to the consumer experience." He left that world behind to start Markers, a software company that designed applications to modernize public company investor relations. In 2017, he joined 3BLACKDOT as COO, stepping into the CEO role in November 2018.
3BLACKDOT is an influencer-driven entertainment company focused on delivering audience engagement, driving gaming culture and developing entertainment properties. The name is a reference to ellipses. “It represents that focus on what’s next,” says Cash. ‘‘It's that ‘to be continued,’ that anticipation.”
In the last few years, 3BLACKDOT produced the movie “Queen and Slim” and established a new show, “Gaming While Black.” “They’re two wildly different projects,” says Cash. “But they share a commonality of purpose to create opportunities for BIPOC creators, and for audiences to see themselves.”
