Mirimar makes waves with buzzy, culturally relevant campaigns

Mirimar, which means “view of the sea,” is making waves in the ad world with bold, entertainment-fueled campaigns. The Los Angeles-based independent creative agency experienced record growth in 2024, doubling its revenue from $11.5 million in 2023 to $23 million last year and expanding its team to 35 full-time employees and 10 freelancers. Mirimar’s banner year was bolstered by a plethora of new client wins, including Speedo, Netflix, Flamingo and Beats by Dre. Most notably, the creative shop secured its largest-ever AOR assignment in 2024 in the form of Rocket Cos. The five-year-old agency put entertainment and cultural relevance at the core of its work for its slew of new clients. Mirimar’s Super Bowl commercial this year for Rocket, for instance, pushed the boundaries of Big Game advertising with a TV spot that transitioned into a live, 65,000-person singalong that aired for 15 seconds during second quarter. The campaign’s playful hero video, starring “Stranger Things” actor Dacre Montgomery and set to an original song created for the campaign (“Full Speed” by The Beefs), doubled Speedo’s new customer acquisition and boosted first-time buyers by 46%, Mirimar reported. For Beats by Dre, Mirimar launched a series of viral campaigns packed with celebrity talent, including a launch campaign for the Beats Pill Bluetooth speaker that revolved around Lil Wayne struggling to fall asleep due to LeBron James blasting one of the rapper’s songs through a Beats Pill.
