Prettybird’s directors continued to help brands deliver the unexpected; its highlights this year included two powerful Super Bowl spots that put a twist on the Big Game tradition of celebrity endorsement. Calmatic helmed Michelob Ultra’s “All Star Cast,” which cleverly featured an array of celebrity names who turned out to be lookalikes (except for Don Cheadle, who meets his double). FCB’s spot encouraged viewers to do double takes in an attempt to prove that not everything is as real as it seems. Meanwhile, Max Malkin resurrected Vince Lombardi, one of football's most inspirational figures, as a hologram with a recreated voice, to deliver an inspirational speech for the NFL’s opening Super Bowl film “As One.” See all of Ad Age's A-List 2022 winners here. Over in the U.K., Tom Noakes made us see teddy bears in a whole new light. He delivered a charmingly unusual spot for Ikea in which a couple of ripped, brawny bears act as guardian angels for the home.
