At least, that’s the point EasyToys, Europe's largest adult accessory retailer, makes in its latest campaign about the orgasm gap. Crafted by agency Officer & Gentleman as a spoof reality TV competition, “The Clitoris Conquest” invites couples to race to find the peak of Mount Clitoris (a real mountain in the Philippines). But on the show, finishing first isn't necessarily a good thing… In the satirical trailer for the faux series, as couples work to find Mount Clitoris—a task which seems particularly challenging for the male participants—a host introduces viewers to three couples who seem to have trouble in the bedroom. They trek across lush tropical landscapes and compete in a series of challenges teaching them about the orgasm gap between men and women, providing them tips for a better time, including the value of communication and the importance of lubrication. The pairs literally learn to come closer together in the process. “‘The Clitoris Conquest’ takes a humorous approach to an issue that far too many couples are still hesitant to talk about,” said Eric Idema, CEO at EasyToys. “Our company motto is ‘It’s Playtime,’ which is our way of encouraging people to explore what brings them pleasure through play. And with this campaign, we’re hoping to do just that.” The campaign comes as studies show less than 30% of women reach climax during mixed-sex sexual activity, whereas over 90% of men typically do. The campaign aims to close that gap with education and open communication. In addition to the trailer, viewers are invited to visit thegapisreal.com, designed to look like a streaming platform where they can watch a series of additional episodes recapping the individual challenges and learn the “techniques” that can help them reach the peak on their own. The campaign will have executions across social media, digital, ecommerce, radio and outdoor media in multiple European markets, including the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Italy and Poland.
