This Kellogg's Bran Flakes Ad Turns Breakfast Into an Art Form
U.K. Spot Suggests Cereal Can Be a Blank Canvas
Editor's Pick
Kellogg's Bran Flakes are depicted as the "perfect blank canvas" on which to create your breakfast in this ad from the U.K., part of a new strategy for the brand that focuses on flavor.
The spot, by Leo Burnett London, aims to challenge the perception that many whole wheat foodstuffs are not tasty enough by demonstrating the creative breakfasts that can be based on Kellogg's Bran Flakes.
Directed by Gus Filgate at Little Fish Productions, the spot is set to a sound-track by French hip hop producer Roger Molls as we see Kellogg's Bran Flakes, berries, yoghurt, kiwi and passion fruit being arranged by artists to create a number of different breakfasts. The ad (which reminds us more of Marks & Spencer's mouthwatering food advertising than the typical cereal ads promoting healthy starts to the day) ends with a collage of Bran Flakes-inspired creations. These creations will also appear on pack, in a wider digital advertising campaign and across the revamped Kellogg's Bran Flakes website.
