Through this week, we continue our countdown of the best work of the year in TV/Film, Print/Outdoor/Design and Interactive (IX)/Integrated/Social. See all the Best of 2014 so far here.
At #6 in TV/Film, BBH Asia/Pacific was behind this witty ad that takes the piss out of blusteryhigh-tech advertising to promote something consumers look forward to with great anticipation each year -- the Ikea annual catalog.
Original Post:
Ikea is known for its exciting and experimental interactive work...but this time, it wants you to experience the power of a book. That's a real book, with pages and everything. This tongue-in-cheek film from Ikea Singapore and agency BBH Singapore attempts to launch the retailer's 2015 Catalog in the manner usually reserved for much-anticipated tech devices. Our tech guru talks us throught the book's "eternal battery life," "original touch interface," pages that load with "zero lag." The video sits on an animated microsite that Ikea is launching along with a newspaper, outdoor, radio and cinema campaign.
