Booking.com's latest ads for the European market and Australia are about the joyous moments experienced by its customers when all their travel requirements come together with the help of the platform. But it's the inspired music choices that help to underscore the point.
Created by Adam&Eve/DDB (which was appointed to handle the company at the end of last year) and directed by Fredrik Bond through MJZ, the campaign is taglined "Live Curious" and consists of 20-second vignettes evoking what the agency describes as "real human moments."
These include, as seen here, a little girl applying makeup all over her face in her family's vacation apartment to the tune of Kim Carnes' "Bette Davis Eyes." The spot ends with the information that using Booking.com's customized filters, you can make sure you get an apartment with a washing machine.
Another spot has a wheelchair user enjoying the smooth pathways of an accessible resort to the Dolly Parton track "Here You Come Again." There's also an older couple enjoying the sunset while in their convertible rental car, in a spot set to "Only You" by Yazoo, and an ad showing a kid bravely hitting the pool without floats in his family villa, backed by Barbra Streisand’s "Gotta Move."
The ads are running on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube and will accompanied by radio executions. The campaign will be running on TV in the U.K., Australia, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Russia and Poland.
