Burger King is giving away bags of potatoes to go with customers' burgers and fries
Brand is helping French farmers with unusual giveaway
Editor's Pick
A fast food order might commonly come with a side of fries, but Burger King France is doing things somewhat differently this month—it's giving away bags of raw potatoes.
In its latest effort to help out during the pandemic (which has already included helping indie restaurants and encouraging people to also buy from its fast food rivals), Paris agency Buzzman's new campaign for the brand aims to help French farmers who are suffering from shuttered restaurants during the pandemic. It's buying 200 extra tons of potatoes, and from tomorrow, will be giving away a one kilo bag of potatoes to each customer who visits a drive-thru.
The effort is being supported by social media posts as well as print ads in French newspaper Le Journal du Dimanche.
