Orangina Shakes up a Pastel World in a Gorgeous, Quirky U.K. Ad
Autumn de Wilde Directs First Work From Grey London
Aug 26, 2015
Gorgeous design and a quirky spirit are the hallmarks of this stylish new film from soft drink Orangina, its first U.K. campaign from Grey London.
The work, which aims to reposition Orangina for the premium adult market, is directed by Somesuch & Co's Autumn de Wilde, a director best known for fashion films such as the surreal short film series "The Postman Dreams" for Prada and album covers for artists such as Elliot Smith The White Stripes.
It begins in a beautifully-colored world, opening on a set of orange and blue beach huts before a little boy runs down a white hotel corridor and pushes his way through a pair of older gents in dapper pastel suits, to wait for an elevator.
When the doors open they are confronted with a girl in an orange and white striped dress hula-hooping with a bottle of Orangina and singing a sultry French song -- a nod to the brand's French heritage. The spot ends with the words "Life is flat unless you shake it" and the slogan "Cest Shook" -- both refer to the fact that you need to shake Orangina before you drink it. Watch out for some great little quirks, including elevator music, surreal noises, and the two gents slowly holding hands.
