Fans of the “world’s best cup of coffee” scene in “Elf” will enjoy the new print campaign from Coca-Cola, featuring photographs of eateries around the world all claiming to be the best at something.
Along with their hyperbolic names, the restaurants have another thing in common—they all feature Cola-Cola signage in some form. This is “one thing we agree on,” according to the headline on the ads—that the “best” food in the world always should be accompanied by Coca-Cola.
Visually, there’s a lot going on in these ads—perhaps too much—but it’s a fun idea that will hopefully find that balance in making the viewer work a little bit, but not too much, to decipher. WPP’s Open X, led by VMLY&R, created the campaign.
