Corona turned the sun into a lime during this week’s solar eclipse

Guest photographers captured the moment in Brazil, Chile, Uruguay and Argentina in David Miami campaign

The solar eclipse in South America this week drew millions of onlookers—and one beer brand, Corona, which recruited photographers to take shots where the sun looked like a lime wedge in a Corona bottle.

The photos were taken at strategic points in Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, and Argentina. The shots required extensive preparation to predict the angles, and the photographers took an average of five minutes to get the shot right, said agency David Miami, which produced the campaign.

The photos are appearing in social and out-of-home ads. “For every slice of sun,” says the copy—a reference to Corona’s longtime association with sunsets.

“We had only a brief window to capture the moment due to the angle required to form the lime, and the results were truly incredible—perfectly embodying the essence of Corona,” said Marcelo Maragni, a Brazilian nature photographer.
