Old Spice released today a new ad today in its ongoing “Men Have Skin Too,” campaign—once again featuring actress Gabrielle Dennis, the face of the campaign: comedian Deon Cole, and an appearance by actress La La Anthony. In it, Cole confronts Dennis about using his Old Spice GentleMan’s Blend Body Wash with Lavender and Mint while she’s out to brunch with Anthony.

“Of course. I’m not letting hotel soap near my skin,” Dennis confesses.

“Brunch,” created by Wieden+Kennedy Portland, debuted on national TV and the Old Spice YouTube channel.

The campaign launched in 2019 with a spot called “Running on Empty,” about Dennis taking long showers using Cole’s Old Spice Moisturize with Shea Butter Body Wash, and emptying the bottle in the process. “Men Have Skin Too,” says Cole.

“Men Have Skin Too” will continue in 2023 with an additional spot also featuring La La Anthony titled “Family Reunion” showcasing another moment of Gabrielle and others “borrowing” Deon’s beloved Old Spice.

“For as long as I can remember, Old Spice body washes and deodorants have been a staple for the men in my family,” Anthony said in a statement. “Working with companies and brands that put diversity and inclusion at the forefront of all that they do is so important to me."

In June, Old Spice also introduced a “Finer Things” spot featuring “Riverdale” actor Ross Butler. In the 30-second ad, Butler finds out that both his mom and love interest have been using his body wash. 

“Finer Things” was written and directed by Creative Director and filmmaker Clayton Tony Au. Old Spice partnered with Plan C, a California-based Asian American marketing and communications agency, to produce the spot.

Products in the GentleMan’s Blend lineup include body wash, deodorant and shampoo.
