In this spot from Mars North America's Dove chocolate, we see a woman age from baby girl to silver-haired lady, living her life spontaneously and savoring some chocolate every day.
Shot as one rolling sequence, in which she wears the same green dress throughout, the ad is set to the well-known strains of Edith Piaf's "Je Ne Regrette Rien." We see the carefree young girl leaving the house to meet friends, riding a skateboard and drawing a smiley face on the car window of a grumpy driver. She continues her life in the same impulsive, teasing vein -- having romantic adventures (including kissing a guard in riot gear through his helmet), freaking people out by walking on a balustrade and finally returning home to look in the mirror as an older woman and laugh as she eats another chocolate.
The spot, running on TV and digital platforms, was created by BBDO New York and directed by Park Pictures' Vincent Haycock.
"Edith Piaf's lyrics of enjoying life without regret are as true today as they were when she first performed the song," said Kerry Cavanaugh, Brand Director, Dove Chocolate Brand, in a statement. "We all need to be reminded to take a moment to savor life's everyday pleasures, big or small, like unwrapping and enjoying the signature taste of Dove Chocolate."
