A Spooky Spin on Car Advertising From France

We're used to car brands creating commercials that show how their driving technology makes life easier (even if, as in VW's ads, it isn't designed for Hollywood). Renault puts a spooky spin on this in a couple of ads it made for Halloween this year, featuring a zombie driver and a family of vampires.

In one spot, seen here, a zombie spots a potential victim at a bus stop as he drives by in a Renault Koleos. He stops to park to catch the unassuming man and activates Renault's Easy Park Assist feature, which allows parking without hands. That's literally without hands, as his fall off and become attached to the rotating steering wheel. But that doesn't stop him from being able to park his car without a problem.

Another film depicts a vampire family in their Renault Captur. Their creepy-eyed baby starts crying and the parents stop to fill its bottle full of blood. He drinks it all, then vomits all over the car seat. But the parents aren't worried, as they are equipped with Renault Removable and Washable Seat Trims.

The online spots are by Publicis Conseil The Loft, the social media arm of the agency, and were directed by Thomas Leisten Schneider at La Pac.
