Posten Norge, the Norwegian postal service behind the Christmas ad featuring a gay Santa love story, is back with another charming piece of creative to mark 375 years of postal delivery in the country.

Agency Pol turned to Bacon director Jakob Marky to deliver a film that takes its cues from a famous movie romp through history: "Forrest Gump."

"My mother always said, life was like a postbox ... you never know what's inside," declares the fresh-faced mail carrier protagonist, sitting on a park bench in one of many references to the iconic Tom Hanks film. We then see him play multiple roles as couriers delivering mail throughout Norwegian history. From carrying important packages on skis to using a traditional "post horn" and mail delivery via boat, train and plane like Gump, he's there for every milestonee—he even wins an Olympic medal. There's even a glimpse of the future and drone delivery.

It's a sweet film that will make you think nostalgically about the history of mail delivery—perhaps as you groan at your email inbox.
