A clutterbusting "Above the Influence" print campaign from Campbell Mithun in Minneapolis, shot by Bob Stevens, pictures young people living in garbage dumps to make a point about friendship. "The intention is that the kids not look homeless but rather like they've been dumped there straight from their comfortable, upper-middle-class suburban homes," says photographer Stevens. "The props are designed to show that in their desperation they've made an attempt to create a 'home,' in a surreal sort of way. And they appear reasonably well-dressed to imply that they're recent arrivals, underscoring the timeliness of the reaching out they need from their friends." Finally, he adds, "The talent is bathed in a pool of light to create a sort of angelic presence in these less than pleasant environments."
