For centuries, Santa Claus has prided himself on knowing exactly what everyone in the world wants for Christmas. He’s got a list after all, and even the naughty kids send in their requests. That means the best presents are the ones that come directly from Kris Kringle himself.

But he’s not used to competition. In a new spot by The Richards Group for GameStop, Santa has anger management issues, taking out his rage on nearby decorations after being outdone by the video game retailer .

A snowman gets decapitated in his initial outburst, and a plastic candy cane becomes an instrument of destruction as Santa descends into blind fury. He takes out reindeer lawn ornaments and the neighbor’s wreath and smashes Christmas lights and a gingerbread house. Good thing there wasn't a nativity scene nearby. Mangers don't offer much protection from blunt force trauma.

It’s a cathartic scene even for viewers who aren’t buying video games. The pressures of finding the perfect gift take a toll on us all. The 30-second spot is directed by David Thomas and Benjamin Hurst from Community Films and is edited by Marc Stone of Lucky Post, which also handled color, sound design, graphics and finish.
