PlayStation's spot for its forthcoming "God of War" game offers some impressive CGI and an epic feel reminiscent of "Game of Thrones" or "Lord of the Rings."
In the ad, by BBH New York, the game's heroic father/son duo, Kratos and Atreus, face down a series of creatures, monsters, and gods. The film opens with a father's lesson to his son how to hunt and then uses the boy's arrow as its narrative thread, taking them into worlds inhabited by wolves, trolls and more, all with super-realistic graphics by Santa Monica studio and "God of War" game director Cory Barlog.
The ad debuted last weekend during an extended-length episode of "Family Guy" as the sole sponsor. "God of War" game is being released exclusively on PlayStation on April 20. It follows another suprise move in which Playstation took over the court of an NBA game to give the audience an intriguing peek into the "God of War" world.
