A man harangues forest animals in ad for an organic retailer

In a new spot for French organic online retailer Greenweez, a man harangues forest animals about their lack of environmental awareness.

The protagonist, played by YouTube environmentalist and comedian Nicolas Méryeux, chastizes a beaver for deforestation, a squirrel for littering his nutshells, a hawk for flying too much and an otter for taking too many baths.

It's absurd, but the quirky approach is designed to highlight that when it comes to the environment, it's easy to sit back and criticize, but you can actually take action by buying sustainable products. The tagline is "For those who want to do more than talk."

Directed by Tony Vernagallo, the TV and digital spot is the first work for the brand by agency Rosapark. The agency used archive footage so as not to disturb the animals in their natural habitats. 

"Weeks of research were necessary for the documentary filmmakers to find scenes and reactions perfectly adapted to the comedy," said Gilles Fichteberg, co-founder and executive creative director at Rosapark in a statement. "We pushed the location scouting to the extreme so that the montage, composed of archival and filmed images, would be as credible as possible and give the impression that all the scenes were shot in the same place."
