The 2006 brand campaign for Simms, a Bozeman, Mont.-based maker of fly-fishing gear, features "some of the most respected male and female fly-fishing guides in the business, photographed on their home waters, using the Simms gear they wear every day," says Mullen GCD Jim Hagar. Shot by Tibor Nemeth (www.tibornemeth.com) in various locations including the Bulkley and Damdochax rivers in British Columbia, and the tidal flats of the Laguna Madre in Texas, the object is to "capture the passion, intensity and hardcore mentality of these guides." Which is nicely abetted by the dramatic cloud cover; fly-fishing is not a sunny sport, it seems. "Up in B.C., we were shooting in chest deep, flowing water," recalls Hagar.
