A TV campaign from Gumtree, a neighborhood classified site in the U.K., builds up a montage of front doors across the country to highlight how communities are helping each other by staying inside.
Created by agency Fold7, and directed by Charlotte Regan at Knucklehead, the spot was all shot on camera phones by the agency, director and DOP. It's set to a spoken word poem thanking the people who have called each other, waved through windows, drawn rainbows and clapped for carers throughout the lockdown period.
“Gumtree is founded on the idea of bringing the neighborhood together so we wanted to take this opportunity to celebrate this moment of community togetherness—those heart-warming acts of kindness that mean so much right now - while reminding people to stay home so we can all stay safe,” said Lynsey Love, senior brand manager at Gumtree UK in a statement.
Ryan Newey, chief creative officer at Fold7, added, “The U.K. has shown great spirit during lockdown, we hope this advert helps to boost it and maintain the pride we have in each other.”
