The brand connected the billboard to a local bar during Brazil's 'Rock in Rio' festival to highlight its green energy program

Heineken is highlighting its commitment to renewable energy by installing a solar powered billboard at Brazil's "Rock in Rio" festival that cools beer at a local bar.

In a campaign by Le Pub Brasil, the brand has installed solar panels on a billboard connected to Brewteco, a famous bar in Rio located in the Gávea district, during the festival this month. The text on the billboard informs viewers: "This billboard is cooling your Heineken. Cheers."

The initiative promotes the brand's sustainability goals; Heineken already uses 100% renewable energy in its production process in Brazil and has committed to supply energy to 50% of its partner bars in Brazilian capitals by 2030.

“We want to take advantage of all the activity going on in Rio de Janeiro during the days of the festival to draw attention to our Heineken Green Energy program," said Eduardo Picarelli, director of the business unit of the Heineken brand in Brazil, in a statement. "The solar panels that cool the beer create a connection with the audience in an innovative way, inviting people to start an important dialogue in a totally different way."
