Hyundai will take back a now-worthless 2021 NFT in exchange for a new Santa Cruz
The automaker gave away 10 NFTs three years ago, but will now trade one of them for a vehicle
Editor's Pick
At the height of the NFT craze in 2021, Hyundai gave away 10 Santa Cruz NFTs on social media. The automaker now admits they are essentially worthless. So it is proposing a solution—it is promising to give away a real Santa Crux (or cash equivalent—the vehicle starts at around $28,000) to the first person who can prove they have one of the 10 NFTs given away three years ago.
Hyundai began plugging its trade offer Monday on social media with post that simultaneously makes fun of NFTs—“I think my grandma bought one of those.”
