Ikea's simple ads show how its products are 'inflation proof'
Campaign from the Middle East reminds customers that popular items cost the same as in 2020

Ikea's products aren't just good value -- they're even better value in an era of inflation. That's the message of a new campaign from the Swedish retail giant in the Middle East, highlighting how it's prices on popular items haven't changed.
The Swedish retailer's Middle Eastern stores, which trade as Al-Futtaim Ikea, worked with Stockholm and Hamburg-based agency INGO on the campaign, which posts prices for four consecutive years for various items, showing that they are the same. More than 80 products, including Ikea's Strandmon armchairs, Sundvik cots and Lack TV benches, have remained at exactly the same price from 2020 until February 2023. The copy points out that inflation "made Ikea even more affordable."
The campaign can be seen in out-of-home, in-store and print ads around Dubai, and it's also appearing on Ikea Al-Futtaim's social channels in the UAE and Qatar.
"As a company, we understand the importance of affordability in today's economy," said Carla Klumpenaar, Ikea Al-Futtaim general manager for marketing, communication, home furnishing and retail design in the UAE, Qatar, Egypt and Oman. "With this campaign, our goal is to remind consumers that Al-Futtaim IKEA is committed to keeping prices low while still providing well designed functional products. We want to showcase the efforts we make to ensure that our products remain accessible to everyone and make a better everyday life for more of the many people.”
