"Game of Thrones" actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and "Community" star Alison Brie have an awkward, intimate moment in a new ad for Apple TV that debuted last night, via TBWA/Media Arts Lab. The pair sits in a Hollywood trailer, locking lips as they prepare for a kissing scene they are about to shoot -- Mr. Coster-Waldau is dressed as if he's a wounded soldier, while Brie plays a nurse.
After what seemed like a decent trial run, Brie kills the moment. "This still isn't working," she says, and then turns to Apple TV for help. She asks Siri to pull up a smooching scene that did work, from the film "1,000 Times Good Night," in which Coster-Waldau starred with Juliette Binoche.
Brie then tries to dissect their kiss: "What angle are you guys at here, is that 25 degrees?... Is there tongue, a little bit of tongue?" That doesn't seem to lead anywhere, so she asks Siri to switch over the "Game of Thrones."
Her frustrated acting partner then changes the strategy and asks Siri to turn up the heat in a different way, through Apple Music. He pulls up some steamy tunes from Jeremih, and then shows off his "sexy" dance moves.
The ad, which is meant to show off Siri's ability to switch easily between Apple TV and Apple Music, is the latest from Apple to feature big celebrity talent. The brand tapped Cookie Monster as well as Jamie Foxx to showcase he iPhone and also brought in power trio Kerry Washington, Taraji P. Henson and Mary J. Blige to promote Apple Music.
