LG is helping to eliminate symptoms of hot flashes in menopausal women using AI technology paired with air conditioning.

“Menopause Mode,” launched in Brazil, introduces the technology currently in beta testing. The campaign film shows how LG connects a smartwatch to an air conditioning unit to monitor body temperature, heart rate and blood oxygen levels in real time. The initiative created by AlmapBBDO helps identify when women experience hot flashes during the night and sends an immediate command to the LG Dual Inverter +AI unit to cool the room quickly. After 10 minutes of cooling, the unit returns to the temperature originally set by the user.

The campaign comes as the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) shows one in three women will experience severe hot flashes during menopause.

In addition to the film, LG is running digital content about menopause from Brazilian celebrities Adriane Galisteu (@galisteuoficial) and Carol Loback (@carolinaloback), who shared their experiences with menopause on Instagram to connect with other women experiencing the same.

“Here at LG, we always seek to use artificial intelligence to offer benefits to our consumer and this is the proof that technology can really make people's lives better, starting with our partners in this initiative, Adriane Galisteu and Carol Loback,” said Rodrigo Fiani, VP of IT, B2B and AC sales, LG Brazil.
