The Metropolitan Museum of Art has created an art-themed mobile detective game in which players have to figure out, Cluedo style, how a mysterious woman was killed at an evening gala at the museum in 1899.

Murder at the Met: An American Art Mystery challenges players to deduce who killed 'Madame X', with what weapon, and in which period room. Players use their phone to travel through the galleries, where the art comes to life. Created in collaboration with Green Door Labs and TourSphere, the app launched on April 20 at a special Teen Programs event. Visitors to the American Wing of the Museum are now welcome to try their hand at solving the case.
