Kim Gehrig directs real-life supporters from all 32 NFL teams giving heartfelt performances
Editor's Pick
Ahead of the the Apple Music Halftime show at the Super Bowl featuring Rihanna, Apple Music has brought fans from all 32 NFL teams together to sing Rihanna’s hit “Stay.”
A new spot that dropped today on social media features fans of a diverse range of ages and ethnicity, with some sporting lavish costumes and makeup devoted to their teams. For fans interested in the Big Game matchup, not just the halftime show, try to spot the Philadelphia Eagles fan at the 1:08 mark. It’s hard to miss the howling Kansas City Chiefs fan toward end of the ad (he’s also shown briefly around the :24 mark).
Each performs a solo of lines from the song; while some are talented singers and some are less polished, the performances are heartfelt and the passion that undoubtedly went into the performances shines through. After showcasing all the fans individually, filmed against a dark background, at the end we see them all together as one choir.
The spot was directed by Kim Gehrig and produced via Somesuch.
This halftime show will be the first to be sponsored by Apple Music, replacing longtime NFL partner Pepsi.
