IBM's Gripping Interactive Film Lets You Step Into the Shoes of an Engineer in a Blackout
'24' and 'Homeland' Director Brad Turner Helms Campaign for Ogilvy
Editor's Pick
IBM is showcasing some of its mobile technology in an interactive film in which the viewer steps into the shoes of a female engineer dealing with a city-wide blackout.
The film, "Outage," was created by Ogilvy and debuted this week at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Merman director Brad Turner, who's helmed episodes of "Homeland," "24," and "Designated Survivor," directed the film and his background shows--it channels a tension reminiscent of those shows as the protagonist needs to take a series of critical decisions, with a clock counting down all the time, in order to restore power. At various stages during the film the viewer needs to choose her next step. Seven films are woven together to uncover the full story, allowing for multiple experiences. You can experience the film here.
