Editor's Pick

Students become rocket scientists in this integrated push for the Sony Vaio out of 180 L.A., The Rocket Project. The campaign aims to showcase the capabilities of the Sony VAIO laptop and the Intel chip and recruits eight high school students to help design, build and launch a high power rocket.

The students, armed with Vaio CW series laptops and an accelerated course in rocketry by Tom Atchison, Director of the Association of Rocket Mavericks, will launch a 25-foot projectile weighing over 500 pounds in April at Black Rock Desert in Nevada. Both the rocket and mission control will be powered by Vaio computers. The process will be followed online and in an upcoming documentary.
